Awful news hit the club of Mayo Gaels this weekend when a young boy passed away suddenly, the whole community is in shocking and the messages and tributes have been lovely.
Claremorris native Colin Joyce sadly passed away on Monday, October 10
Mayo Gaels GAA paid a touching tribute for the young man on their Facebook page, where they remembered him as a “quiet and gentle lad” who “was a pleasure to coach”.
Mayo Gaels GAA wrote on Facebook: “It is with great sorrow that Mayo Gaels club members learned, yesterday, of the very sad passing of young Colin Joyce from Harefield, Mayo Abbey.
“Colin played for the club at all underage levels and was a popular member of the current Mayo Gaels U17 panel. Colin was a quiet, gentle, unassuming lad; he was a pleasure to coach and was great friends with his teammate’s. Colin will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
