News coming out of Mayo GAA is that the sad passing of club lady Angela Ruane of Moy Davitts club has sadly passed away.

According to Mayo News, Angela, who was a well-known figure to all those on the banks of the Moy in Foxford and the surrounding area, served as PRO in the 1980s, as well as for a spell in the 2000s.

Her brother, Gary Ruane, represented Mayo with distinction in times gone by, captaining the Green and Red.

The Ruane family is intrinsically linked to the story of Moy Davitts. Alongside Gary, Angela’s other brothers, Michael and John, served the club with distinction, while many of Angela’s nieces and nephews play with the club today.
