Gary Lineker has been forced to clarify that he is NOT Maurizio Sarri’s assistant manager at Lazio, it’s merely his doppelgänger.
Lineker, who hosts Match of the Day on BBC, stepped down from his role as BT Sport’s primary football presenter at the end of last season.
The former England international revealed that he wanted to make the most of Leicester City’s European tour as a fan, rather than watching it while providing coverage on TV.
It seemed as though Lineker had also taken up a role as Maurizio Sarri’s assistant manager at Lazio, with the former Chelsea boss having been snapped smoking a cigarette in the press box next to Lineker’s long-lost brother.
Lineker has been forced to clarify that the man in the photo is NOT him.
It’s not me with him, honest. 😳 https://t.co/4RbpqmrgeJ

We can certainly see the resemblance. He looks like a rougher, more Italian version of Lineker. His actual name is Gianni Picchioni, a close ally of Sarri and definitely NOT Gary Lineker.
On a side note, it seems incredible in this day and age that Sarri can get any with having a fag in the press box in the middle of a football match. How very bizarre…
