Gary Lineker hinted at who will be the next MOTD presenter during the show on Saturday night.

The former Tottenham striker has been the presenter of the show since 1999 after taking over from Des Lynam at the time.

Although he seems to have no plans of retiring from his hosting position, he will have to eventually and hinted at his possible successor on Saturday night.

While on the show, Jermaine Jenas stated “I always like getting a striker’s opinion.”

“Do you want my job?” Lineker replied.

Jenas then said”No, no – not yet,” with Lineker replying “Later.”

  1. Will be glad to see the back of Lineker and his cronies but Jermaine Jenas is aweful as a commentator wasn’t that good a footballer and will be useless at presenting time for match of the day to be reinvented into something the public would be willing to watch you need to be brain dead to watch Lineker

    1. “Wasn’t that good an footballer” but played over 265 premier league games, 21 international caps might suggest that he was a pretty good footballer.

    2. Very intelligent young man. Shows your lack of intelligence when you are stating that a premier league footballer is no good at football. Kop on!

  2. Jj is a good replacement. Doesnt really mattr as long as it aint that alex scot she is shocking. Even with sky, bt, now, and amazon etc.
Its still good to watch motd and see you team.
