In the first play of the game between the Springboks and Los Pumas at Ellis Park on Saturday, South African number nine Grant Williams had to go off after getting knocked out from a block down.

People all have different opinions on this matter did the Irish referee make the right call? We think he did, it was a ‘rugby incident’ but here are some of the strong views of the others online.

  1. It’s only fine when it suits the big boys at the top of world rugby. I have never seen such inconsistencies from any sporting body. Will Carling was right when he said rugby was run by old farts. Wake up and smell the coffee grand dads

  2. Reckless and dangerous should settle the argument regarding the potential career ending incident on Grant Williams. The referee further aggravated the horrible incident by allowing the game to continue before awarding a penalty to Argentina and should be held accountable for his lack of control over the unfortunate occurrence.
