Ricky Hatton’s dad was doing the same. The clip of him being told in a press conference how much he’d been paid for his last fight and looking at his dad all confused was heartbreaking.
Bet it started out “small”. Like needing 500 to get the car serviced, I’ll just borrow it from the fund and pay it back when I get paid, then just never paying it back, oh and then I needed another 1k for that other thing, and so on until he had “borrowed” so much he couldn’t pay it back. At that point in for a shilling, in for a pound.
