Gilbert is incredibly lucky that legendary UFC and MMA referee Herb Dean was inside the octagon to call the fight as early as he did as the Brazilian could have been in for a world of hurt from βThe Nigerian Nightmareβ.
Usmanβs right jab rocked Burns and put him on his back on the canvas where it took him some time to recollect himself, in that time Kamaru spotted an opening and managed to land some really clean shots that would knock out any fighter but Burns struggled on and attempted to stand up before he was pushed back down again by Kamaru.
The blows after that were immense and once he began connecting cleanly Dean had no choice but to stop the fight.
