The two were former teammates, sparring partners and even friends, this fight was more than just a title fight for them as the two put everything on the line and Kamaru Usman came out on top, retaining his UFC title.

The Nigerian Nightmare didn’t have an easy night with Burns putting ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ through his paces and even rocked the champ severely in the very first round.

A punch that Gilbert through inside the first 40 seconds connected cleanly with Usman’s temple and clearly rocked him as he lost his footing and even looked out for a second as he was possibly on his way onto the canvas.

Kamaru was then able to find his footing very quickly again and fire back a flurry of punches to hide the fact Burns had hurt him.
