New York Jets players travel for game with Mike White shirts amid quarterback uncertainty

In the NFL, players are known for turning up to matches in some wacky outfits and the New York Jets players did just that, as they set off for Minnesota for their game against the Vikings wearing t-shirts with their quarterback Mike White’s face on them, as Zach Wilson’s long-term future at the franchise remains in doubt.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh dropped 2021 first-round pick Wilson in favour of White for last weekend’s game against the Chicago Bears, after the former’s disappointing performance in their loss to the New England Patriots a fortnight ago, as he threw for 77 yards, completing just nine passes out of 22 attempts.

Against the Bears, White came in and stole the show, throwing for 315 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-10 win as Wilson looked on in the rain from the sideline, with White continuing to prove that he should be the man to take the Jets forwards as they look to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

With Wilson’s Jets future in limbo, a strong performance from White against one of the NFL’s standout teams tonight could be the final nail in the coffin for Wilson, who might need to consider his future if White makes a further mark as QB1 in New York.
