Gary Neville is NOT being fooled by Roman Abramovich’s statement, released on Saturday night.
As per a statement released by Abramovich on Saturday evening, he had handed over stewardship of his football club to the “trustees of Chelsea’s charitable foundation.”
What exactly that meant was anyone’s best guess, but a quick skim through who the trustees were, including Chelsea Women manager Emma Hayes, it was clear to see they wouldn’t ACTUALLY be in charge.
The likelihood is that Abramovich will maintain his position at the top of the tree at Chelsea, he’s merely stepped further away from the limelight amid the suggestion he could be sanctioned by the UK government.

Gary Neville, who doubles up as a political commentator nowadays, is not at all convinced by Abramovich’s claims. He claimed that club owners in football believe they can ‘con’ the fans – but he sees straight through it…
