Mason Greenwood is set to become a father weeks after rape and assault charges against him were dropped.
The forward, who last played for Manchester United in January 2022 is due to become a parent along with his partner in the summer.
The 21-year old was arrested last January after a woman made claims the claims of rape and assault on social media but a year on from the incident, the charges have now been dropped with the Crown Prosecution Service citing the withdrawal of key witness and the emergence of new material around the case.
He remains suspended by his club, but still receives his £75,000 a-week salary which is part of his contract that he remains under until 2025.
Despite Greenwood apparently being keen to return to action, several female players are concerned for if he was allowed to come back.

Natalie Burrell, founder of the United Women’s Supporters’ Club, has said: “United need to make a statement and letting him back would be the worst thing they could do.
“I don’t want to see him training, in a kit, or coming out at Old Trafford again. And I’m confident they won’t let him.”
