The Sun are reporting that Hamilton’s new contract is estimated to be worth up to £40 million includes a commitment from both sides to create a joint charitable foundation, which Mercedes say “will have the mission of supporting greater diversity and inclusion in all its forms in motorsport”.
The British driver wrote his name into history last year after clinching his seventh and record equalling world title at the Turkish GP.
Hamilton joined driving legend Michael Schumacher as a seven-time F1 world champion after victory in Istanbul from sixth on the grid.
That victory means that Lewis Hamilton is statistically the most successful driver of all time due to him currently holding or sharing all of F1’s biggest records.
