Liverpool have struck back within seven minutes against Manchester City, with Diogo Jota slotting past Ederson to level the scores.
Kevin De Bruyne gave the champions the lead after just five minutes, having driven towards the Liverpool defence, struck the ball towards goal and gratefully watched it deflect off of Joel Matip and into the back of the net.
Considering how well City had started, and how slow Liverpool were moving the ball around in the opening exchanges, you wondered if it could be a long, title-costing afternoon for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
However, the Reds don’t know how to give up, which is how they managed to engineer their way back into the Premier League title race, and they’ve struck back just seven minutes after conceding the opening goal.
Trent Alexander-Arnold cut the ball back into the path of Diogo Jota and there’s only ever one result when he finds himself in these kinds of positions. He beat Ederson with a cool finish to level the scores.
