Eden Hazard forced into apologising to Real Madrid fans after full-time laughter left club monumentally angry

Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has taken to his Instagram story to apologise to furious Real Madrid fans after being caught by cameras laughing on the Stamford Bridge turf just moments after his current employers were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.

While Hazard will still have a great deal of affection for Chelsea, having spent such a long time at Stamford Bridge, and of course there will be players within Thomas Tuchel’s squad that he considers friends, there’s a time and a place for laughing and joking, and he picked the worst one possible.

As per ESPN, Hazard’s behaviour at the full-time whistle sparked ‘monumental anger’ in Madrid. Being eliminated from the Champions League one step away from the final in Istanbul would have been bad enough, with Hazard’s beaming smile sure to have left the club and the fans absolutely raging.

The Madrid based media were not impressed with Eden Hazard’s actions.

Hazard has now been forced to apologise via his Instagram story. The Chelsea legend stops short of admitting any actual wrongdoing, but has said sorry nonetheless, and goes on the stress how honoured he is to be playing in a Real Madrid shirt.

Real Madrid supporters are notoriously unforgiving, with the always injured Hazard not having enough credit in the bank to get away with a debacle of this kind. You get the feeling he’s going to be thankful that there’s no fans allowed in stadiums at current, because he may well have got booed off the pitch.
