Liverpool dealt potentially MAJOR blow ahead of Champions League final

Liverpool have been dealt a major blow ahead of the Champions League final this weekend.

The Reds, whose quadruple bid was derailed by a historic Manchester City turnaround on Sunday afternoon, will have to pick themselves up ahead of the UCL final against Real Madrid this coming Saturday.

Sadly for Jurgen Klopp, Thiago Alcantara picked up an achilles injury during his side’s contest with Wolverhampton Wanderers. It remains to be seen if he will be fit and available for selection in Paris.

One player who WILL indeed be available is Eden Hazard, who recently had a metal plate removed from his ankle which was causing him discomfort. Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that the Belgian could feature.

Considering Hazard has a superb record against Liverpool and will be hungry to justify Los Blancos’ £130m expenditure, now that he is fit once again, this could really be an ace up Ancelotti’s sleeve ahead of the game.

Taking his recent form into account, Liverpool could underestimate the threat posed by the former Chelsea superstar, but a fit Eden Hazard is a dangerous Eden Hazard. Liverpool’s full-backs ought to beware…
