‘I’m fine’ – Christian Eriksen addresses his fans for first time since suffering cardiac arrest

Christian Eriksen has taken to Instagram to address the public for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 fixture against Finland.

The football world was left in a state of shock when Eriksen fell to the turf and was treated with CPR on the field of play. We all held our breath, desperately hoping that the Inter Milan star would pull through.

Thankfully, he did, with Eriksen pictured awake and receiving oxygen while being stretchered off the field, a clear indicator that the 29-year-old was going to escape this tragic incident with his life.

Eriksen has been in hospital since his collapse, with the doctors closely monitoring his condition and running tests to discover exactly what caused the seemingly healthy midfielder to suffer a cardiac arrest.

The Danish talisman has now taken to Instagram to address his supporters and thank everyone for their support. There’s two words from this message that stand out for us – “I’m fine” – because that’s all that really matters.
