Erik ten Hag reveals surprise return of player who was thought to be out for the season 😲

Erik ten Hag has revealed that Christian Eriksen is in line for a return to the matchday squad after fears that he’d be out for the season with injury.

Eriksen was the victim of a nasty tackle by Reading’s Andy Carroll in the FA Cup back in January and it was believed that the Dane would be out for the season after picking up an ankle injury as a result of the challenge.

Now, ten Hag has revealed that his midfielder will be returning to the matchday squad this afternoon when Manchester United face Everton.

It was a really bad tackle and a really bad injury but it’s settled and now we are very happy with that.

I think it was not for nothing, I was so angry about that bad tackle.

We first feared we had lost him for the whole season, but he has worked really well and the medical department did very well and he is available for the final stages of the season, so we are very pleased with that.” (quotes via the Sun).

It’s unlikely that Eriksen starts vs the Toffees today, but don’t be surprised to him get some minutes with United needing plenty of fresh legs ahead of a busy schedule this coming month.
