Liverpool have been left sweating over the fitness of full-back Andy Robertson after he limped off during a friendly match against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
The Reds’ pre-season campaign is winding up towards its conclusion, with yesterday’s battle with Athletic Bilbao one of two friendlies Jurgen Klopp’s men will play in the space of 48 hours to ensure they’re ready for the new season.
There were plenty of positives to be taken from Liverpool’s perspective, none more considerable than Virgil Van Dijk making it through 70 minutes of action, having now fully recovered from his anterior cruciate ligament rupture.

Unfortunately for Klopp and co, they have now added another key player to the injury list, with Andy Robertson having seemingly twisted his ankle during the 1-1 draw with Athletic.
Andy Robertson will undergo a scan on Monday to determine the extent of the ankle injury he suffered against Athletic Club.

Robertson will need to have a scan in order to determine the full extent of the injury, but at the time of writing, his chances of being fit for the Premier League’s opening weekend are looking slim.
