Chelsea given MAJOR boost ahead of title six-pointer against Liverpool on January 2nd

Chelsea have been given a major boost ahead of their tussle with Liverpool on January 2nd.

The Blues have lost ground in the title race in recent weeks, with their only hope of getting their title pursuit back on track being beating both Liverpool and Manchester City after the turn of the year.

That is quite the task, with both sides being in electric form and, in all honesty, looking head and shoulders above Thomas Tuchel’s men at this point in time.

However, Tuchel has been boosted ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming tussle with Liverpool after the Reds’ clash with Leeds United on Boxing Day was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Leeds camp.

Though Liverpool will be fresher for the Chelsea game, they will be without influential left-back Andy Robertson, who will now not have served his suspension in time to return for the battle with the Blues.

Konstantinos Tsimikas is a fine deputy, but he’s not Robertson, who has already established himself as one of the finest left-backs ever to appear in the Premier League.

Make no mistake, his absence is a HUGE blow for Liverpool.
