Tyson Fury’s promoter predicts “he’ll do a job” on potential upcoming opponent

Frank Warren has revealed his belief that Dillian Whyte would be light work for Tyson Fury, should the pair be ordered to meet in the ring.

Whyte has remained on track for a world title shot, despite having been knocked out by Alexander Povetkin over lockdown. The emphatic victory in the rematch put the Briton back on course.

With him currently being the WBC mandatory challenger, there has been significant suggestion that he and Tyson Fury could meet in the ring now that The Gypsy King has completed his trilogy with Deontay Wilder.

If we were betting men, we’d predict that a bout between the pair could be pencilled in for early next year. If that were to be the case, Frank Warren has little doubt over who would be triumphant.

Warren, Fury’s promoter, told iFL TV in a recent interview, “I think he’ll do a job on him.”

“I look at Dillian Whyte fighting Derek Chisora twice. The second fight, Derek was winning that fight until Dillian pulled it out the bag and done what he had to do, which was a good finish, and he did that.”

Whyte is an excellent fighter, one of the finest heavyweights on the planet, but he’s not Tyson Fury level of good. It would take a major upset for him to dethrone his compatriot, should he be given the opportunity to do so.

What we would like to see is Whyte vs Deontay Wilder. Both reside in the lower bracket of world-class heavyweights and have the necessary tools to knock each other out. There could be fireworks…
