If you were to ask Jurgen Klopp prior to kick-off who he would want the best chance of the game to fall to – a gilt-edged chance, the kind which is harder to miss than score – he would have said Mohamed Salah, and he would have said it with his chest.

However, Klopp might want to make a note for future reference, to inform his players not to pass the ball to Salah too early in the game, as he might not be sufficiently warmed up to tuck it away in the manner that we all know he can.
Liverpool headed into tonight’s game knowing that two goals would take them into the Champions League semi-finals. With less than two minutes on the clock, Salah had a golden chance to cut the deficit to one, and somehow, he missed it.
