Jurgen Klopp backs Mohamed Salah over controversial tweet 👊

Jurgen Klopp has given his support to Mo Salah following the Egyptian’s tweet about the club’s failure to claim Champions League football.

Klopp and Liverpool failed to make the Premier League’s top four this season for the first time since 2015/16, with Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Chelsea on Thursday night confirming the Red Devils as the fourth and final team to make Europe’s elite competition after Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Following the confirmation of Liverpool’s fate, Salah released a tweet detailing his apologies for not finishing in the top four, and in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Reds’ match with Southampton on Sunday, Klopp revealed his support for his Egyptian winger.

When it becomes a fact that you can’t qualify for the Champions League, it’s clear and when it happened after United won, I drew a line under it.

In a world where so many bad things happen on social media, I don’t think that [Salah’s tweet] was one of them and he’s right, it’s not a time to be optimistic.
