A quite remarkable Chelsea fan edit has envisaged a world in which Timo Werner scored THAT chance in the opening exchanges vs Real Madrid.
Werner has missed some absolute sitters during his debut campaign as a Chelsea player, and has been heavily criticsed for it, justifiably so.
However, no miss was arguably as bad, and certainly as significant, as the one he hit straight at Thibaut Courtois with just a matter of minutes on the clock at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.
Werner had the goal at his mercy, but made former Blue Thibaut Courtois look like the hero by booting it straight at his foot.

If Chelsea are unable to progress to the final of the Champions League, Blues fans will struggle to resist looking back on this as a defining moment.
In fact, some Chelsea fans are so transfixed on the missed opportunity that one has produced a video to make it look as though it has never missed at all.
This both pretty sad and hugely impressive in equal amounts.
