There doesn’t appear to be a Timo Werner resurgence on the cards, the Chelsea striker has just missed an absolute sitter for Germany.
Werner arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer with a big reputation and high expectations. It was thought that he could chance Chelsea’s fortunes in front of goal.
However, instead the German missed a hatful of great chances throughout the campaign, falling miserably short of expectations and disappointing the Chelsea faithful.
While had netted in both of Germany’s games over the international break before tonight, he’s just missed a chance that shows us he really is the same old Timo Werner.

There might have been a little bobble, he might have lost concentration for a split second, but he HAS to be scoring an opportunity like that when playing for Germany.
Chelsea will be thankful that they have Romelu Lukaku at their disposal now, because his ruthlessness in front of goal will lessen the need for Werner to be on the pitch.
