Chelsea striker Timo Werner is reportedly in talks over sealing a SHOCK loan move to Newcastle United.
Expectations were high when Werner signed along the dotted line with Chelsea, but the German has struggled to perform at Stamford Bridge.
With his relationship with Thomas Tuchel now strained, the expectation is that he will be leaving the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
Surprisingly, or at least so claims the Mirror, Newcastle United, of all clubs, are leading the race to sign the internationally renowned striker on loan.
The report claims that Newcastle, though unwilling to pay Werner his £275k-a-week wages in full, are in talks over completing a loan move to sign him.
RB Leipzig, Werner’s former club, have also been linked, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to financially compete with cash-rich Newcastle.
At this point in time, it’d be difficult to predict exactly where Werner will end up, but it’s probably safe to say he will be leaving Chelsea before the window closes.
