Tyson Fury is gearing up for his expected unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk and has decided to bring in none other than Wayne Rooney to help him prepare.
Fury is fresh off a win against Derek Chisora, who he stopped in the tenth round. This is the ‘Gypsy Kings’ third victory over his fellow British fighter and his 33rd win as a professional.

After his impressive win, Fury took part in an intense face-off with heavyweight rival, Usyk, which has sparked rumours of a potential bout between the two. The Ukrainian has looked incredible since taking the step up to heavyweight but some people still think that his height might be a major disadvantage.
To prepare for this height difference, Fury will have to bring in smaller-stature fighters, that’s where Rooney comes in.
“I spoke to Wayne and he’s well up for it,” Fury said.
“We’re going to bring Wayne in for preparation for Oleksandr Usyk. No [it’s not a joke], very serious. He’s going to come into camp for about four weeks to help me.”

Rooney has expressed his admiration for the 6ft 9in fighter before. In an interview with talkSPORT, the former Manchester United star claimed that he is a huge fan of Fury.
“I think he’s the best we’ve seen in a long time, and I don’t think anyone will beat him. I think he’s an absolute legend for what he’s done for boxing. He’s entertaining, his skills are incredible, his mentality is incredible,” Rooney said.
“If I’m being honest, I probably think he should be knighted because he hasn’t been afraid to go abroad, he’s won titles abroad, defended them abroad and he epitomises everything that boxing is.”
