Daniel Dubois takes on Joseph Parker next month.

The British heavyweight makes the second defence of his IBF crown following his stunning knockout of Anthony Joshua in September.

Ahead of the Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk rematch it emerged that Wladimir Klitschko was eyeing up a return to the sport and if ‘The Gypsy King’ had been victorious there was a possibility of a rematch between the bitter rivals.

Klitschko had posted on X formerly Twitter.

“There are a lot of rumours these days about a possible comeback.

“At the moment, I’m not concerned with my return to boxing, but with the return of Russians to their country, outside Ukraine.

“And let me be clear: I’ve never stopped training. So IF there was to be a fight, I’d be ready on the spot.”

It later emerged thar Klitschko had also sounded out Daniel Dubois with the aim of challenging him, winning his IBF title and becoming the oldest heavyweight champion in history at 48.

Dubois has admitted talks with the veteran Ukrainian’s team had taken place.

“They were talking about it but it has gone quiet now for a bit,” he told BoxNation.

“So I reckon he doesn’t fancy it anymore, having me on his case.

“Yeah [I would fight him], whoever wants it. Wladimir or whatever makes the most sense with the team.

“But yeah, Wladimir Klitschko, the legend Wladimir Klitschko, that would be something else, wouldn’t it?”
