Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has insisted that Roman Abramovich is “praying for peace” in Ukraine, despite his reluctance to say anything himself.
Abramovich released a carefully-worded statement on Saturday evening, with the condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine a notable absence in terms of the topics covered.
That raised even further questions as to whether Abramovich, who some believe to be within Vladimir Putin’s circle, actually supported the atrocities committed by Russia in Ukraine.
We have now been provided with further insight into the subject by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who insists that Abramovich absolutely supports the words written in a statement released by the club on Sunday morning.

“The situation in Ukraine is horrific and devastating. Chelsea FC’s thoughts are with everyone in Ukraine. Everyone at the club is praying for peace,” the statement read.
According to Tuchel, Abramovich IS praying for peace in Ukraine – and doesn’t support Putin’s actions…
🗣 “Absolutely, it includes him. It reflects my opinion and everybody else’s opinion in the club.”
