Last weekend’s UFC 263 saw the long-awaited return of fan-favourite Nate Diaz.

After being matched up against rising British star Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards, Diaz, who was coming back off a two-year-long layoff, was involved in one of the best fights of the year, so far.

Five gruelling rounds saw the Stockton-born brawler go toe-to-toe with one of the promotion’s most highly-rated fighters.

Despite eventually going on to lose the fight via unanimous decision, Diaz did his stock no harm.

Cheered on all night by thousands of fight fans in attendance, the fighting world will be begging to see more from MMA veteran in the near future.

However, following his recent showing, MMA Salaries have reported exactly how much it cost president Dana White to lure the 36-year-old back into the octagon.

It has been claimed that the American striker earned a whopping seven-figure sum believed to be within the region of $1,121,000 (£796,000), which also included a stunning $600,000 (£426,000) pay-per-view bonus.

Not bad for a night’s work, eh?
