Joe Rogan believes CTE could be to blame for Conor McGregorâs actions over the last few years.Â
The Irishman has been involved in several controversial moments in recent times, from punching an elderly man to being found liable of sexual assault.
UFC commentator Joe Rogan has put forward a different angle about McGregorâs behaviour.
Speaking on the JRE Podcast he said, âI think thereâs another issue to talk about and that is that a lot of fighters, when theyâve sustained a significant amount of damage over the course of their career and thereâs no way to not get that, right? Weâve all seen Conor get beat up and knocked out, weâve seen Conorâs sparring footage. He spars pro boxers, heâs sparring elite fighters. Youâre getting hit in the head a lot. And a lot of fighters, especially towards the end of their career, turn to dr-gs.â

Rogan added, âAnd I think thereâs probably a constant state of discomfort that they live in, where their dopamine levels are all fâed up, their cortisol levels are all fâed upâŚâ
âYouâre not supposed to get punched in the head a thousand times a year. Itâs just not supposed to happen. And thatâs the reality of consistent training.â
Rogan concluded, âI donât know the real details of that case. I know his version of it and her version of it and what played out in the court. But the reality is that guyâs partying, and heâs partying real hard and he talked about it [partying] in the court case.â
CTE or Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive brain condition that worsens over time and is thought to be linked to repeated head injuries. Itâs associated with contact sports like American Football and boxing, and can affect people whoâve experienced multiple concussions or traumatic brain injuries. CTE slowly damages the brain, leading to dementia and affecting thinking, behavior, personality, speech, and balance.

UFC president, White was asked to comment about the McGregor case, but aggressive White dismissed the line of questioning Saturday night at UFC 310âs post-fight conference in Las Vegas.
âWhat do you mean, whatâs my reaction? If I had a comment, I wouldâve put it out already,â White said.
When he was pressed further about the Irishmanâs future White once again was in dismissive mood.
âHe hasnât been fighting here in, I donât know how long,â White said.
âWell, if he does fight, itâll be sometime next year,â he added.
