Yet every World Cup year we will triumph. Trust the reset. Speaking of reset, how’s the finances on the long white cloud rugby doing? We hear it’s about to crumble like Blondie’s hairline

People said the same after RWC 2019 – Boks have peaked. Did not quite play out that way. Boks remain one of the top few teams, and the future looks bright. Lot of good young talent. Even if u20 results seem meh. Not worried.

These performances have been sub-par since before 2019. And had no effect on senior level. The true professionals amongst the group will excell, while the rest sift through to the smaller unions. It’s never been a snowball problem…ever…under Rassie.

Yeah because u20 success is an accurate measure of how successful they’ll be as senior players 😂😂🤣

  1. Show me a Rugby Union that isn’t in debt and I’ll want to know why – debt is normal and NZR has tight budgets given our scale, the number of teams, provinces and staff that are paid. If your criticism of NZ rugby in general is the intention, be aware that we don’t want, need or see SA returning to Super Rugby anytime soon. You’re just deflecting.

  2. Most teams tend to worry about their future, but I wouldn’t be too concerned when it comes to the Junior Boks. Recent history shows that South Africa has a development system that effectively bridges the gap between junior and senior test levels, thanks largely to the strength of their Provincial and Euro competitions. Whilst it is good to win, the performance, for the long term, in the recent U20 tournament wasn’t bad—games were competitive and closely contested. What other teams should be more concerned about is that South Africa already has the building blocks in place, along with the strategic thinking to align them effectively. Their innovative and forward-thinking approach continues to prove successful. Given the strength of their development process, it’s safe to say that panic is not part of their current mindset.
