Owen Farrell the 31 year old England Out-half and the RFU has come in for a backlash for his latest high tackle in the Gloucester vs Saracens game last weekend and the punishment handed out by the English Union.
The RFU just announced their ruling on the high tackle and it’s four weeks, but to be reduced to three, just in time for the Six Nations.. Surprise, surprise..

Im other words Owen Farrell is treated in much the same way as every other player who faces a disciplinary. A fair ban https://t.co/kQcMTdlH5w

Literally exactly as I predicted.
The citing system is utterly broken.

Do you agree with this decision by the RFU? It’s going to be a cracking opening to the Six Nations with England set to welcome the Scots to Twickenham for the Calcutta Cup. Who will prevail in this one? England have their new manager Steve Borthwick it will be interesting to see how he gets on…
Absolutely disgusted with this decision, this has been done like this so england dont miss out, this is not going to make an example of him and he will carrt on being a dirty player as lond as the bias RFU keep handing out soft punishments, how long before he seriously injures another player with his sly no arms tackles
How is it disgusting?? That tackle itself is not worth any more than 4 weeks, and he only has one other ban on his record which was 2 years ago. So he’s not exactly a repeat offender as much as everyone says he is. And why do they need to make an example out of Farrell? There are players with a lot worse record than him…
He knew what he was doing – the punishment fits the crime.
If this was bundi aki he gets 24 weeks
