Portugal centre-back Pepe has fired blame at Lionel Messi after his side’s shock World Cup exit.
Portugal was eliminated from the tournament after a surprising 1-0 loss at the hands of Morocco yesterday afternoon. Youssef En-Nesyri scored the only goal of the game with a towering header just before half-time. They were able to hold on for the rest of the game, making history as the only African side ever to get to a World Cup semi-final
It was a devastating loss for Portugal, especially for Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe who will never play in the tournament again.
The veteran centre-back bizarrely blamed his old foe, Messi, for their exit.
“It’s inadmissible that an Argentine referee was in charge today after what happened yesterday, with Messi complaining. After what I saw today, they can give the title to Argentina now.” he said in his post-match interview.
Pepe is disgusting, always has been. To suggest it’s Messi some how who caused them to lose is absurd. He has never recovered from the abuse Messi gave him for 10 years at Madrid.
