🚨NZ writer launches astonishing attack on Peter O’Mahony

Posted by

New Zealand writer Gregor Paul clearly isn’t a fan of Cork’s Peter O’Mahony and he let his feelings know as he wrote in the nzhearld the following;

MORE HERE: 🚨Fans were devastated after what Laura Woods posted on Men’s Mental Health Day it’s absolutely sickening…

“Peter O’Mahony’s comments [about Scotland] lacked class and respect, while Johnny Sexton has seemingly come to see his status as the global game’s elder statesman and captain of the world’s best team as a licence to berate officials and belittle opponents,” Paul continued.

“He’s a brilliant player and a great leader – wonderfully articulate, too – but he’s often too eager in trying to get under opponents’ skin… Some may find his passion admirable and judge his behaviour a sign of his depth of commitment to win, but it’s obvious that the All Blacks may have the deepest respect for his talent, but they don’t much care for the way he conducts himself.”

It’s going to be a massive game on Saturday evening between both Ireland and New Zealand.

  1. We’ve all seen the depths to which NZ players will go in order to win. They attach no shame to any act they willingly commit no matter how dispicable and cowardly. Given this fact why would anyone pay even the slightest attention to what this person writes. They have no standing and him and his ilk should just be ignored. NZ are without doubt athletes but I question if they are Sportsmen.

    1. Anthony Kelly I find your comments quite interesting could you elaborate on instances of this for the group?

        1. Rumour has it if you stick your head out the window on a day with a westerly breeze you can still hear BOD complaining from the UK

        2. U sir are an absolute wanker of the highest order., sexton lay be the darling of Ireland but outside of them he regarded as as big a wanker as you, four more years till u get dumped out of the quarters again muppet

    2. Yup, try living here. If NZ doesn’t win, it didn’t happen, if NZ isn’t competing, they won’t mention it and if they do, they will tell you where the kiwi is but not who the leader is. It’s ridiculous.

      1. Why you living there then? If it’s so bad why do you stay? Obviously you hate the place, the people and their passion for rugby. Grow a pair and go back to the wonderful place you’re from, I’m sure you’re be better off there.

      1. Andrew Hore hooker hit Bradley Davies Wales from behindv. Thuggery to the extreme infact a cowardly act

        1. Ah yes, when Bradley Davis deliberate ran to block Hore supporting the ball and then tried to milk a card after Hore moved him out of the way???? That what your whining about?? Davis cheating and coping some instant karma.

Thats why you lot are losers, you spend more time bitching like sooks instead of getting on with the game. Rugby’s a hard game for hard men….. if you want to cheat dont be surprised that somone’s going to draw the line.

          B

          1. Speaking of trying to milk a penalty, did anybody else think Bundee Aki did his best dive when Mounga hit him with the shoulder, then Sexton pleading with Barnes for a card. Quit it with the football theatrics!

    3. Wouldn’t read into his comments too much. He’s Scottish and most kiwis I know wouldn’t give him the time of day. He’s looking for clicks and looks like it worked

      1. Yes. This is the most measured comment.

Rugby is not well served by its journalism, And there is at least one Gregor Paul in every country. I’m I always wary of any journalist who says his views represent his country’s view… which as you point out is scotland

    4. I agree they cannot take losing, probably because they were so invisible for so long, but hey it’s time to get over that and take a loss on the chin!!

    5. Anthony Kelly. I have never seen such a load of utter rubbish with what you wrote in your comment. You guys beat us last year and Peter Mahoney was an absolute IDIOT with the comments he directed at Sam Cane during last years test series. I have strong Irish Heritage as well as being a Kiwi. I find your comment disgraceful and resent it totally. Johnny Sexton is at best, a reasonable player but would never be a first pick or even make an All Black team …he simpky is not good enough. He talks far too much to Referees and needs to focus on his game more. What a great game of rugby the last game was and we beat you guys fair and square. Stop sooking and move on. Just another reminder for Peter Mahoney, Sam Cane has a World Cup under his belt …..Peter Mahoney will npw never win one …..Sam could get a second if we play well enough.

      1. Well said, great analysis.
All Black fans don’t get carried away with their emotions.
We like the Saffers ,look at the facts with a hard practical eye and leave the histrionics to other nations

      2. One absolutely idiotic post. Sexton is a legend and gets into any team in the world. At his age 38 it’s phenomenal he can still play with the best.

        1. You must watc a dufferent game to ggrest o us He can certsunky kick goals ? Buttgstsxwhere is ends he jytakes ondstp an shuffles ge ball on ?
He waves his armsaround liKe a windmill and just cries in gge ref’s ear all day
          Boring and one dimensional
          Thank god he’s retiring

    6. He’’s Scottish, you miserable oxygen thief……. this is what happens in NZ sports journalism. We get these talentless hacks from Britain come to our country writing absolute drivel about sports they know sweet FA about….. that said if O’Mahony is a gobshite who’ll be remembered for shittalking Sam Cane only to get absolutely buried by him in the next match. If your going be a gobby twat you need to back it up and O’Mahony can’t.

Reading your whining, victim statement suggests your Irish and as we’ve seen once more….. you talk a better game than you play

    7. What a load of dross, you must not have watched the previous world Cup where NZ wore there third place medals with pride whilst a fair few England players refused to wear there runner up medals.
Ireland were to cock sure about themselves they couldn’t eat humble pie after being beaten by a better team on the day. After the game Ardie Savea made it perfectly clear how much respect the AB’s have for Ireland but all Ireland could do is spit there dummies out like spoilt brats.
Your comments carry the same sentiment, full of crap with no humility or magnanimous in deafet. Everyone wants to beat the AB’s as they set the bench mark and that is why so many kiwi coaches are involved world wide in the international game. Wasn’t Ireland’s previous coach a kiwi. Just saying.

    8. Such rubbish we kiwis like Ireland and had they won the other night we would have supported them through the rest of the cup! We’ve been number one in the world for many decades on and off along with SA, Ireland have only recently got it and good on them so maybe some respect from each of us I reckon.

    9. Yes those bloody Kiwis will stop at nothing. Even the Irish try scorers that nearly had them in the game were Kiwis. They’ll stop at nothing those talented pricks. Especially that bloody captain who was caught consoling Bundy after a tough battle, and then leading his team in a guard of honour for Johnny Sexton as he walked in. Yes they were being completely sportsmanlike, but then again they’re only athletes.
      You absolute cockwomble.

    10. As a Kiwi with Irish heritage I’m disappointed in the comments on what was a wonderful game, played in the best spirits and shame one team had to lose on the day. Even the yellow cards were mild – Smiths fingertips gave Ireland a try while Taylor slipped over rather than pulled the mail down but Ireland couldn’t take advantage.
Ireland have been the best for quite a while but just like NZ in Yokohama last RWC being best on the day counts more.
Ireland can indeed be very proud – sore losers aren’t like anywhere.

    11. Can you give examples of such acts you refer to. You know ones which have not been investigated and found not to have an issue. Thankyou … I doubt I’ll hear back from you.

  2. I have just replayed peter O’Mahony’s after match interview, and totally failed to detect any lack of respect in his remarks about Scotland.
I don’t know what the equivalent of “The Black Stuff ”is in NZ, but whatever it is yet man should take a bit less of it, and clarity might break out!

    1. Well, I think he disrespected Scotland’s Ruhan van der Merwe hugely when he commented that Ruhan was not good enough to make the Springboks.

  3. Do these Irish wannabe’s have any idea what they’re talking about?. I don’t remember them being prominent in any of the other World Cups? I’d rate France ahead of any day

      1. Well at least the ABs live on for another week to find out… not like the Irish… what’s that 8 losses from 8 quarter finals?

        1. 8 quarter final losses and 9 knock out losses in RWCs

They’ve not led a RWC Quarterfinal at any point since 1195

    1. That’s a strange thing to say David, I’m sure the Irish are aware that the French are the favourites this time round Why do you think they wanted to top the group so that South Africa ended up playing France🙈😉

  4. When all is said and done, the result will happen on the field. Support your team at the top of your voice – no need to slag the opposition while you’re doing it. Leave the bickering to these click bait ‘journalists’. As an All Blacks supporter, I can tell you all with certainty, this writer is not a highly respected rugby writer here in NZ. Game on!

  5. Gregor Paul is Scottish! A shock jock clown- wouldn’t read anything ge writes – guaranteed to be complete bollix 🤡🤡🤡

  6. RICHIE MC CAW I rest my case the dirtiest player I’ve ever seen on a pitch always on the edge of legal/illegal but what a fantastic player I’d have the up most respect for him what an incredible leader!!!!!!! Sexton, O Mahoney OH YEAH COYBIG 🇮🇪❤️🇮🇪❤️🇮🇪❤️

  7. With due respect to your snotty little rant, I beg to differ. Unlike other tier 1 teams, the All Blacks are the true sportsman of the oval ball game. They don’t go around spinning rubbish or go and cheat in games, they go out like any other team to play the game to excite and entertain the millions that watch them every year. They’re the #1 draw cards everywhere they go.

    1. Agreed Joe, although I don’t think many(there are those who do) test playing rugby players bad mouth their fellow players or opponents.
Most of them seem well grounded & humble people.
Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the fans & journalists of all countries.
If all the fans had the attitude & understanding which the players have, we’d be much better off.

  8. If Richie Mc Caw is the dirtiest player you have ever seen, then you really haven’t watched much rugby.

  9. Great match between All Blacks and Irish, fantastic passion from supporters. Well done to both teams. The game should have been a semi-final. The earlier game between Wales and Argentina did not deliver the same quality but Argentina will play in the semi-final.
I hope the Springboks and France can emulate the quality of All Black Irish contest.

  10. Noticed Sexton mouthing “f-off” to one of the New Zealanders at no side, but the other 29 players acknowledged each other with handshakes and hugs .Both teams knew they had been in a game and that it could have gone either way in the last five minutes.Best game I have watched for a long time.Total respect to both teams.

    1. Over the last few years, Johnny Sexton has got mouthier and arrogant. Didn’t used to be the case but I think the expectation of being No 1 has had this detrimental effect. O’Mahoney on the other hand has always had a big, dirty mouth.

  11. Gotta say that I’m honestly really disappointed in the behaviour and comments of the Irish players and coaching and even media after their loss. All this rubbish about not getting what they deserved and how they were the better team and how sometimes the best teams lose and no acknowledgement of the fact that Nz were better. Ask Nz , South Africa : you aren’t given the World Cup. You have to win it AT the World Cup. So much arrogance from the northern hemisphere this year.

    1. Best comment I’ve read. I’m a kiwi and we have been humbled. You can’t take it for granted, it doesn’t just happen because your good. Thoroughly enjoyed the game, nerve-wracking. Well done both teams, best game of rugby for a long time. Don’t spoil it Ireland, be proud!

  12. Yes we are hurting for our boys, our people and our country but we get over things pretty quickly. We don’t dwell on things for long, now I want the All Blacks to win the final as I live in New Zealand. As for the NZ reporter he’s a prick and an armchair supporter say no more he’s trying to be relevant , don’t let him.

  13. Fair play to NZ. They wanted it a little bit more than we did early on in the game and we were always playing catch-up. I have no time at all for players who make rugby look like soccer by their needless back-biting and snide comments. I’m a Munster man through and through but Peter made a rod for his own back with the “s**t Richie McCaw” comments. It gave Cane all the ammunition he needed and he duly shoved it up Peter’s ass. Let’s hope going forward that lessons are learned.
All the best to NZ in the final.

  14. I’m Scottish and supporting Ireland as the 2nd team is natural for us but it’s become harder recently with all the gloating that comes when you beat us.
Looking forward to the day we beat you and hope it’s a big thrashing that you’re not expecting.
And see you at the Euros.. oh… wait a minute…. maybe not.

  15. Gregor Paul is the most un educated rugby journalist on the planet . He’s just a click bait specialist.
Every week he pours absolute scathing crap onto the pages, generally in the direction of coaches and players.
He has no respect and brings the game into
    ill repute.

  16. Everyone is entitled to their own views yet publishing those comments allow everyone to fingerprint and agree or disagree. Last Saturdays game was a true test.. Ireland should have and could have won sadly for us didn’t. Pete is a combative and intelligent player perhaps can ruffle a few feathers but that’s what forwards do.. as for sexton he will be fondly remembered as a legend and a guy who captained his team with pride and commitment. As for name checking Richie mcCaw was always in the refs ear so pal give us a break it happens move on and just enjoy ur win.

  17. The big thing for me and alot of the friends I’ve spoken to is: NZ has always been humble even when they have destroyed us (Bokke). There where no social media storms about how no one can stop them from winning the WC or any other comp. Same with us, we believe we could win, but never that we are unbeatable….On the flip side of this coin, the Notrh is exact opposite of this… Ir/Fr/Eng all think they are unbeatable and if they loose (wich is impossible), it must be the ref.
Take the Roses in 2019, not even being proud of their 2nd place…
Ireland and France should accept what coming from the South, we give back in abundance to
    what we got…
Enjoy mofos! We’ll put on a show in France and hopefully meet those black jersey wearing “cheaters” in the final!😜😜
