The former Ireland and Leinster second row Neil Francis has been sacked from his role as a writer with the Irish Independent for a shocking comment on Lions, England and Harlequins Out-half Marcus Smith.

Neil Francis enjoys being controversial, but the problem about being controversial eventually you will put you foot in it and the former Irish second row did exactly that and the Independent were left with no choice but to terminate his contract with the Irish newspaper.
