Hearing news that Lionel Messi has broken another record is like somebody telling you that the sky is blue.
Yet here we are, the Argentinian has done it once again, becoming the oldest player in the history of the tournament to score and assist in the same game. This comes 16 years after he set the record for the youngest player ever to achieve the same feat.

Messi’s record breaking goal and assist came in Argentina’s 2-0 win against Mexico. Drilling a shot from outside the box into the bottom corner first and then setting up teammate, Enzo Fernandes, 20 minutes later.
This record will take some beating, it might be possible to break one but both?
Not in our lifetime.
