McGregor says he was using Poirier fight as practice for Manny Pacquiao

Conor McGregor is famed for breaking down and analysing his own fights in a brutally honest way and gives fans an insight into his thinking and the way he prepares for fights.

When breaking down his approach to Dustin Poirier and what went wrong in the fight, McGregor revealed that Dustin punished him as he planned on using Poirier as practice for a boxing match with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

This fight with Manny was not finalised and more information has been released on their possible fight since Conor’s second round KO defeat to Dustin.

Conor seems to be quite presumptuous to assume that he would breeze past Poirier and get his bout with Manny but Pacquiao’s representative has revealed that Manny is no longer ‘interested’ in a fight with McGregor and stated that the Irishman needs to ‘clean up’ before considering a fight with the legend.

McGregor states that he loved the practice inside the octagon as he had 40 seconds in the past 3 years before this fight so maybe Manny Pacquiao will consider fighting him if he looks promising in his next UFC fight.
