Maurizio Sarri gave viewers a moment they’ll no doubt be desperate to unsee during Lazio’s tussle with Bologna this afternoon.
Sarri is best known for his tactical genius and pitchside chain-smoking. The man, who has no background in football and formerly worked at a bank, is a rather unorthodox character.
He’s also a pretty disgusting one, as was proven during Lazio’s comfortable victory over Bologna on Saturday, which kept them in the hunt for Champions League qualification.

Sarri attempted to execute what is commonly referred to as a ‘snot rocket’ – but failed, rather miserably. Unfortunately for the Italian, it happened just as the TV cameras turned to him.
