Lazio fans have painted over a Jose Mourinho mural in Rome with Maurizio Sarri’s cigarette smoke.
Sarri has been officially appointed Lazio manager, which means Rome will next season be contested by two former Chelsea managers, with Mourinho taking taken the AS Roma hot seat following his departure from Tottenham.
It’s a clash of two completely polarising footballing styles, with Sarri’s game expansive and possession based, and Mourinho’s pragmatic and oftentimes accused of being overly cautious.

The battle of the two managers has already begun, if off the field of play, with the fight currently being spearheaded by the supporters.
After AS Roma fans marked the appointment of Jose Mourinho with an impressive painting of the legendary manager riding a moped, Lazio supporters have now painted over it with Sarri blowing cigarette smoke in his face.

Sarri is famous for his touchline chain-smoking, something that he is allowed to do in Italy, but wasn’t at Chelsea. Perhaps that’s why he only lasted a season at Stamford Bridge…
