With Messi set to leave PSG this summer, Dutch legend, Marco van Basten has been critical of his rumoured big-money Saudi move.
The Dutchman talking on Rondo on Ziggo Sport said:
‘I think it’s poor. That you still have to go there for a lot of money.’
‘You’ve earned plenty, go do things you like. I can’t imagine that. You are your own boss, aren’t you? You can play football wherever you want, right?’
Earlier reports claimed that Messi had agreed a deal to join Al-Hilal.
But in a statement posted on social media, his father denied these claims.

“There’s absolutely NOTHING agreed with any club for next season. We will decide at the end of the season”.

Yep Marco, but you have never been offered a similar deal (even if inflation-adjusted) in your career, so don’t be a hater. Personally, I would like to see Messi back at Barca for 2 years and he must complete his story. He can join whichever club that best suits him.
