Infantino announced that the new competition will start in the summer of 2025 and that the ‘best teams in the world invited to participate.’

‘It will be a Club World Cup of 32 teams, every four years, and the first edition will be summer of 2025. They will be the best teams in the world invited to participate.’ Infantino said.

The tournament was initially planned to take in 2021 but had to be postponed due to the pandemic. FIFA seemed to have every intention of going ahead with this plan despite the fact that some of Europe’s biggest clubs have reportedly rejected the idea.

This is FIFA’s plan to rival the Champions League but it seems like the last thing these players need now is more football.

We have seen the congested fixture list that the World Cup has created and the many injuries that have occurred as a result.

Do you think this is a good idea?

It will open the door for other competitors that may not have been selected!
