Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte purse bids delayed AGAIN as talk of step-aside possibility intensifies

Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte purse bids are set to be delayed AGAIN as a result of the recent suggestion that the Gypsy King could instead fight Oleksandr Usyk.

Whyte is the mandatory challenger to Fury’s WBC heavyweight title and will have thought that he had once again successfully manoeuvred himself into a position where he could challenge for a world title.

However, once again, Whyte would be wrong. As The Sun report, his proposed bout with Fury has been struck by yet another setback and now could be off completely, with wealthy parties ready to stump up the ‘step aside’ cash to see Fury and Usyk fight for the undisputed title.

The report notes that Whyte could be given £5m to forego his proposed bout with Fury, with Anthony Joshua in line to earn as much as £15m from skipping his rematch with Usyk and instead allowing the Ukrainian to step into the ring with Fury.

It remains to be seen whether Whyte would be content with the cash or would rather have a shot at the world title. If he were to stand aside, you can be sure that he’d want to stay in the conversation to challenge the undisputed champ once he is crowned.
