Why England star removed his shirt during the celebrations of Raheem Sterling’s goal

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka was spotted with his shirt off after Raheem Sterling’s goal against the Czech Republic. An explanation as now been provided.

Saka was drafted into the starting eleven yesterday evening, with Phil Foden, at risk of suspension, left out, with Mason Mount being forced to self-isolate after his interaction with Billy Gilmour.

Few England fans would have had Saka in their starting XI ahead of Jadon Sancho, but the teenager justified his inclusion with a superb performance, particularly in the first-half of the contest.

Saka had his role to play in Sterling’s goal, providing the ‘pre-assist,’ a lofted cross which found it’s way to Jack Grealish, who in turn put it on a plate for Sterling.

Bizarrely, Saka was spotted with his shirt off in the celebrations, despite the fact he was not the goalscorer.

Fans could have understandably assumed that he’d merely got a little carried away, but according to the Daily Star, he was just using the break in play to remove his undershirt.

Saka was clearly getting a little too hot running round at Wembley, there’s no suggestion that he took his shirt off as a way to celebrate what was an important goal for his country – which would have been entirely justified!
