The England national squad was present on Sunday to watch the Barcelona Grand Prix ahead of their World Cup qualifying clash with Andorra next weekend.
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has come under fire on social media after he declined a grid walk interview, which has become a F1 ritual.

England skipper Harry Kane spoke at length about Lando Norris’s chances of winning the race, but Saka didn’t show interest in chatting.
Veteran Sky Sports presenter Simon Lazenby asked Saka who he was supporting. Saka gave a cold reply: “Not much to say.”

Saka then signed shirts for young fans. However, his awkward interaction became a major talking point on social media.
Many fans pointed out that Saka was “arrogant” in his behaviour, and that he was showing his attitude.

However, many have defended the England winger. Saka may not be well-informed about the sport, and as a result, decided to stay away from commenting.
The likes of Kane and Trent Alexander-Arnold are genuine F1 fans. Saka may not be an F1 lover. He has just come down to the race event to enjoy his holiday.
This is not the first time A-list celebs have refused to give an interview. Martin Brundle failed to engage with A-list celebs, which caused traction on social media, including an infamous encounter with actor and model Cara Delevingne in 2023.
