According to Barstool Sports UFC president Dana White has sent a warning to illegal streamers by commenting on a post of an alleged illegal streamer saying he’s “got a surprise for you mother f***ers”.
The comment was screen grabbed and published on Twitter account Spinnin Backfist which was then reported further in an article by Barstool Sports.
It’s not certain what exactly White is threatening illegal streamers with but some are leaning toward the new stimulus bill that makes hosting an illegal stream a felony?
The bill includes a proposal from Senator Thom Tillis (a Republican from North Carolina) that would make illegal streaming for profit a felony (rather than just a misdemeanour), with penalties of up to 10 years of imprisonment.
The UFC have another jam-packed year of PPV events lined up with the return of Conor McGregor at UFC257 expected to be the biggest earner.
It’s unclear what the UFC president has up his sleeve but all will hopefully be revealed as the UFC work their way through the 2021 fight calendar.
