Merseyside Police are investigating an incident involving Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo and a fan at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
Man United were defeated by Everton at Goodison by a single goal, the latest in a string of disappointing results for the Red Devils and against a team who have been one of the worst in the division in recent weeks.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who so often has been the man to provide inspiration for whichever club he may be playing for, was unable to overturn the deficit and subsequently found himself on the losing side, again.
As you could have predicted, Ronaldo was not best pleased that Man United had been defeated and was caught on camera appearing to smash a fan’s phone as he headed down the tunnel following the game.

Man United have revealed that they are aware of the incident, with Ronaldo himself having taken to social media to apologise for his behaviour and invite the fan whose phone he smashed to Old Trafford for a game.
However, it might not end there, with news filtering through on Sunday that Merseyside Police have opened an investigation into Ronaldo’s alleged wrongdoing at Goodison Park earlier in the weekend.
