Manchester City have reportedly made their move for Cristiano Ronaldo. This is NOT a drill.
City have been heavily linked with Harry Kane over the summer, but the Tottenham forward has now confirmed that he will not be moving before the end of the window.
That leaves the Premier League champions with merely a matter of days to find an alternative forward to fire them to glory in the 2021/22 campaign.
There has been talk over the past few days that Cristiano Ronaldo could be the man for City, with the superstar thought to want out of Juventus.
It does seem a little pie in the sky, but according to Sky Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Man City have lodged an official contract offer!
Breaking: #ManCity have offered Cristiano Ronaldo a two-year contract worth €14-15M net per season. The player has to decide what he wants to do, while @ManCity currently do not want to pay Juventus any fee.

MORE: Premier League giants ‘really pushing’ to sign Cristiano Ronaldo before transfer deadline
BenchWarmers’ view
Ronaldo trashing his Man United legacy and moving to the Etihad is unthinkable, but this transfer window has been like no other we’ve seen prior.
If his intentions to leave Juventus before the window closes next week are genuine, and City are the only club showing a real interest, it’d be naive to deem this impossible.
For now, we’re going to put it under the heading of ‘very unlikely’ – but things can change quickly in the transfer market, as we’ve seen 100 times prior…
