😬 Conor McGregor told he’s ‘going through mid-life crisis and not coming back’ to the UFC

Conor McGregor is going through a mid-life crisis and will not return to the UFC a lightweight fighter has claimed.

McGregor hasn’t fought since July, 2021, where he suffered defeat to Dustin Poirier but a fight with Michael Chandler had been pencilled for this year.

Both were coaches of this series of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and as is customary are due to face-off and fight on the conclusion of the show.

McGregor’s USADA issues seemed to have scuppered any chance of the fight happening this year although Michael Chandler does now believe the fight could happen on the showpiece UFC300 event.

But Lightweight Grant Dawson isn’t convinced we will see the Irishman in the Octagon again.

Speaking to the MMA Hour, he said:

“I don’t think he’s coming back. I don’t think he’s fighting. I think he’s going through a mid-life crisis right now.”

Dawson also believes McGregor has struggled mentally without fighting and continued:

“We’re going kind of deep here but the thing that makes people happy isn’t chasing happiness, it’s chasing purpose.

“Conor used to have a purpose, and I believe Conor doesn’t have a purpose anymore, and that’s why his life is kind of going to s***.

“He just doesn’t know what he wants to do. He doesn’t need to do anything. He doesn’t have to do anything.”

“He’s just in this point where he doesn’t know what his purpose in life is and I think that’s he’s so all over the place.

“‘Oh, I’m going to box, oh I’m going to do bare-knuckle, oh I’m going to fight Michael Chandler, oh I’m going to do The Ultimate Fighter.’

“It’s just bouncing between what he wants to do. I’m retired again, now I’m not retired again.

“I just think he needs to find some purpose outside of MMA if he really wants to be happy.”
