McGregor, 32, was back in action 12-days ago when he headlined PPV event UFC 257.

The Irishman’s main-event bout saw him take-on fellow lightweight contender Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier.

The two fighter’s rematch on January 23 was effectively seven years in the making after a first-round TKO back in 2014 saw McGregor come away victorious.

However, despite the Irishman boasting a perfect record over his opponent, it wasn’t to be as a brilliant performance from Poirier saw the American claim a second-round TKO victory over his 155lb rival.

Poirier’s performance at UFC 257 saw the American utilise his vicious array of leg kicks to nullify the threat posed by McGregor.

After unleashing a barrage of absolutely gut-wrenching calf-kicks, Poirier went on to finish McGregor half-way through the fight’s second-round.

In light of the Irish superstar’s recent defeat and still with three fights left on his bumper six fight contract, McGregor has finally broken his silence on who he wants to face next.

Taking to his official Instagram, McGregor said: “Some highlights from my last fight!

“What a trilogy I now have on my hands. Exciting!

“With a handle on the leg kicks I will get back to having fun in there. I was in second gear cruising this fight. Best condition I’ve ever been in.

“After the wrestling and clinch exchanges my shots still held their pop. First time for me with this so I am very encouraged to keep going. It was the first time I did not use/nor need the stool between rounds also.

“I did need the stool after tho that’s for sure.”
