Conor McGregor’s fight earnings have been MAJORLY overestimated

Conor McGregor’s earnings from fighting in the UFC have been significantly overestimated, according to journalist John Nash.

McGregor is one of the most recognisable figures in MMA history and has, without doubt, been the biggest PPV draw in the UFC in recent years.

Even in this difficult period for the Irishman, who has lost three of his last four fights, you imagine that his comeback bout, whoever it may be against, will break records.

However, how much does McGregor stand to earn from such a fight? Well, journalist John Nash has revealed his belief that McGregor’s actual earnings are significantly less than has been reported.

“My guess would be that he is making somewhere between £11-13m, in that ballpark.”

“McGregor is probably the highest-paid fighter, there was actually information floating around on his contract before the Mayweather fight and I don’t think it has changed that much.”

“The one I know I can legally disclose for fact is that of Brock Lesnar, first in the lawsuit it says £6m was the highest paycheque in the UFC ever which I confirmed was Brock Lesnar.”

“He (McGregor) made £1.8m from UFC 100 reported and a side-letter for £4m. He was also the highest-paid fighter ever until sometime in 2017.” – via Luke Thomas, YouTube

Of course, McGregor is not struggling to put food on the table and is still a multi, multi-millionaire. These kinds of figures simply do not compare to the purses given to elite, big-name boxers.

That fuels the possibility of McGregor one day returning to the boxing ring – and as much as we hate to entertain the idea – it may well be against Jake Paul…
